2010 Ford Mustang – Piece by Piece
Ford has been teasing us all with snippets and sections of the 2010 Mustang production model. First it was a fender, then an emblem, and now an interior dash shot! When will it all end?! As we wait, Fordpedia is going to take a closer look at what we’ve seen so far…and try to dissect a great spy shot that Ford may not want you to see.
2010 Mustang Badge
Slight changes are coming to the classic pony on the Mustang emblem. The badge will receive a darker tone of gray with a sharper and more flowing mane. This horsey looks faster, as if he’s in the middle of his life’s fastest gallop. Now, will this Mustang be plastered specifically on the 2010 Mustang, the GT or all future ‘Tangs?
Douglas Gaffka, chief designer for the 2010 Mustang, says: “We lifted the head to make the pony more proud, tipped the neck into the wind to give it a feeling of greater speed and better balance… It’s more chiseled and more defined and looks more like a wild horse… It’s more realistic in terms of proportion to an actual Mustang.”

2010 Mustang Fender
Now this is the type of Mustang front end we like to see. Wider headlights that fall further back into the body, sleek and angled like this pony is ready to get down to business. The 2010 Mustang also looks a bit leaner than previous models, has Ford started a diet plan?

2010 Mustang Convertible
We now look back to 1967′s Mustang convertible. The door and frame line of 2010′s teaser shot looks like the first-gen run of convertible Ponies. Again, Mustang is looking slimmer than usual, it appears as though you can hardly use the side view mirror.

2010 Mustang Interior / Dash
Well, it’s actually more of a side show, leaving much of the dashboard hidden from view. We see those over sized gauges and one powerful old school race car steering wheel. Mustang’s horn is where you’ll find the new Pony badge, but don’t forget to look up at the road occasionally!

2010 Ford Mustang in public!
Is this the combination of all Ford’s efforts? Fans spotted the car at Woodward over the summer and have uncovered…well nothing. Since August there have been so many undercover 2010 Mustang photos leaked onto the internet it wouldn’t surprise us if Ford was just dressing up 2008 – 2009 Mustang mules to mess with us. The official 2010 Mustang is expected to make its first public appearance at the Los Angeles Auto Show this November.
