Meet Figo – Ford’s Small Car for India
Figo – the web is buzzing about this small car wonder today as Ford Motor Company (of India at least) releases their tiny ride in Asia. If all goes well, Fiesta may have a new name plate – because Figo may take its place.

Aside from its small stature Figo has taken a big chunk out of Ford’s pocket – an estimated $500 million was invested into production of the car in its factory near Chennai, India. That particular plant doubled its capacity to 200,000 units per year. The vehicle was designed and engineered in India, based on existing small-car engineering platform used for Ford’s Fiesta.
“We’re confident that the new Ford Figo will be extremely attractive to Indian car buyers,” said Michael Boneham, president and managing director, Ford India. “It’s going to be very competitive with the current market leaders and offer a tremendous value story for our consumers.”
