Ford Vs. Chevy – Battle for Police Cruisers

Why yes officer, of course I’ll take advantage of that rest area, and thank you so much for pulling me over in your new Ford Police Cruiser. There is a battle is waging in the war on – crime patrol vehicles. Chevrolet announced their new Caprice Police Vehicle last month, and now Ford is upping the anty with a new cop car of their very own. Various city officials will be able to have a choice of Caprice or the new Ford Interceptor, which will debut at a speed trap near you in 2011.

The updated cruiser will offer a safer, more fuel efficient ride then previous Crown Victoria Interceptors – not that getting better mileage then the tank of a car that is Crown Vic is a tough job. But those 5-0′s turned taxi cabs always had a kick under their hoods – 4.6-liter, four-valve V-8 that produced 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque – to be exact. Will the new “Crown Vic” have anything similar?

Chevy’s PPV – Police Patrol Vehicle – will also debut in 2011 – giving tax payer plenty of time to decide which car they want to be flipping over when the Phillies win the next two World Series!
