After seeing the 2010 Ford Taurus at Detroit’s Auto Show our faith has been restored in the future of Henry Ford’s car company. The new Taurus puts style back into Ford’s pocket, along with (hopefully) some cash. It’s sleek design looks like a combination of the updated Lincoln bodies mixed with a little bit of Fusion attitude. The vehicle will include optional all wheel drive to back up its 3.5 liter V6 engine, good for 263 Horse Power and 249 lb-ft of torque.

Safety features included on 2010′s Taurus are a blind spot warning system and a voice activated navigational device. Pretty good for a start price of $25,995. Best of all, The Taurus will be all American – constructed at Ford’s Chicago assembly plant. Check out more thanks to Motor Trend’s video Live from the 2009 North American International Auto Show, along with outtakes from the official Ford Press Release below.

Most drivers are guilty of talking while alone in their car – many times to the car itself. No longer will you have to look like a mad person thanks to Ford’s SYNC system. And Michael Knight won’t be the only guy talking to a Ford from now on. The SYNC is a voice operated communication and entertainment center, which will soon become one of Ford’s crowning achievements in automotive technology.

SYNC is now an option (if you have $395 to spare) on all 2009 Ford/Lincoln/Mercury models. Ford SYNC allows drivers to bring nearly any mobile phone or digital media player into their vehicle and operate them using voice commands, through the radio or steering wheel. Some of those features include 9-1-1 Assist, Vehicle Reports, hands-free calling, audible text messages, voice-activated music, automatic phone book transfer and Multilingual intelligence in English, Spanish and French. Popular Science even awarded SYNC with a “Best of What’s New Award” for 2008. Check out Ford’s nifty PR video oh the Lincoln Sync concept system below.
