Offered in limited numbers (only 300 will be built all together) every 50 cars will alternate colors — 50 black, 50 white and so on, each with gold striping.

Price-and-power-wise, here’s how the 50th Anniversary GT500 Super Snake lines up:

Entry-level options are part of the GTS club, with a supercharged V6, making 305 or 475 hp, or 430, 525, 624 hp with various V8s. This option will run buyers $9,995, on top of a base Mustang price.

GT350 has a 5.0L V8 Coyote engine, in 430 hp, 525 hp, or 624 hp increments. It has 50th anniversary badging and accessories such as badge-stitched seating, floor mats, and “1967-1968 Mustang-style backup lights.” It can be yours naturally aspirated at $26,995 or supercharged at $33,995.

Top trim Super Snake comes standard with supercharged 5.0L V8, producing between 750 and 800 hp, on top of one loud and powerful engine roar. It adds an extra carbon fiber spoiler and 6 piston front brakes. This model starts at $59,995.

Two models, the Ford Explorer and F-150, reached historic 100,000 sales figures. This was thanks, in part, to new fuel saving engine technology introduced by our favorite American auto maker.

Ford revolutionized its EcoBoost powerplant in 2011 (the model has been out since 2007). They are now able to produce a 365-hp twin-turbo 3.5 liter V6. But Eco is still green – in 2012, Ford will launch an EcoBoost 1.6 and 2.0 liter to provide more mpg.

2011 also saw a resurgence in Mustang production. Can this classic pony remain as mean as its predecessors?

“Rumors swirled for a year about a 600hp + GT-500 with a larger engine. Stories speculated it would have twin turbos or a larger supercharger. EcoBoost? Well in the end Ford made the big announcement that the 2013 Shelby GT-500 would get an increase to 5.8 liters,” according to Mustang news.

Ford has marked a special occasion in the life of Explorer; the vehicle just sold its 100,000th unit this year!

According to the auto maker, those numbers are up 290% over 2010 totals. This makes Explorer the fastest-growing mid-size utility vehicle in the country. Explorer also hit this mark back in 2007.

Explorer was named 2011 North American Truck Of The Year, though the vehicle has seen a moderate amount of complaints, mostly due to its lacking and faulty MyFordTouch infotainment system. But that hasn’t seemed to stop Ford fans from driving one off dealership lots.

2012′s Explorer promises to attract just as much attention, if not more! Upcoming models will include a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, and Ford is claiming their sales figures will jump 15%, thanks to this environmentally friendly powerplant.

Of course, there are lovers of Ford in Manhattan as well as Queens, but one Brooklynite is letting go of his cherished 1977 Mustang Cobra. Will you be the lucky recipient?

There’s nothing more mysterious than those 70′s era vehicles. Trumped by the beauty of original 60′s muscle cars, and the ugliness of 80′s variants, we don’t see too many ’77 Mustang Cobra II’s out there anymore, especially on the streets of New York with such low mileage (27,700 according to the owner).

With a pristine paint job (this rare t-top was “Always covered and garaged”) Cobra II looks almost brand new. Add in those professionally installed ceramic-coated Hooker headers, MSD distributor, 4V carb and custom stainless steel exhaust, and this vehicle might be the prettiest ride on the block.

We don’t know where exactly in Brooklyn this Mustang Cobra II from ’77 is located, but we’re going to hunt it down. If you’re interested, get $9,600 together and get to it fast.

“Formula Ford” is the entry level event, featuring open-wheeled cars that takes place in many European countries. Next year’s Formula Ford vehicle is the latest edition that is not only powerful, it’s eco-friendly.

Formula Ford is equipped with a turbocharged 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine, which produces approximately 163 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. Though top speed is only around 130 – 140 mph, the car is a powerful performer, sending power to its rear wheels with a six-speed sequential transmission.

The blue and white vehicle is designed with a tube-shaped steel chassis with carbon fiber front and rear crash structures. Formula Ford is FIA-compliant, making it eligible to “compete in a variety of international events.”

‘Crown Vic’ was a very successful police car model. It represented 70% of the police car market in the United States. Sales have been up 64% this year, as police departments stock up before the car’s run comes to an end.

Ford may not be as successful in the future with the Explorer and Taurus police vehicles as it was with the beloved Crown Vic. The automaker now faces competition from a new Chevrolet Caprice police vehicle from GM and a redesigned Dodge Charger cruiser from Chrysler. Ford ended sales of the Crown Vic to private customers back in 2008.

Ford F-150

Models were used in multiple scenes during The X-Files sequel, which was released a couple of years back.

Ford Mustang

Everyone knows the Ford Mustang. This iconic vehicle has inspired people of all ages to drive fast, drive smart, and look cool behind the wheel. 2011′s Mustang GT has been named one of the “Best New Models” for 2011 by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance. Mustang’s 5.0-liter all-aluminum V8 engine gives those behind the wheel an exciting 412 horsepower.

Ford Escape

What better way to start a road trip then in a Ford Escape. Combined with its 2.5-liter four cylinder powerplant, Escape was one of Ford’s initial “Crossover” vehicles, and has been a success from day 1. Shoppers also have the option to test drive Hybrid and Hybrid Limited variants, which gives even higher MPG ratings over base gasoline models.

Ford Taurus

This year’s Ford Taurus is a 2011 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Taurus is a modern day classic – a member of Ford’s Family since 1986. At one point, Taurus disappeared from the auto maker’s lineup, but she’s is back, and better! Even Conan O’Brien loves Taurus so much that he still has his 1992 SHO model.

Ford Explorer

A fully redesigned Ford Explorer is on dealership lots for 2011. This time, the family favorite SUV begins at a relatively low MSRP of about $28,200. For that, you’ll receive three rows of seating, a 2.0-liter inline-four cylinder turbocharged engine, and a 5,000 lb towing capacity. Explorer has always been a big deal for Ford, this model looks to continue that tradition.

Ford Edge

Last, but certainly not least, the Ford Edge hopes to have another outstanding year. The crossover (CUV), based on a Fusion frame, is pumped up with a 3.5-liter V6, along with an added 3.7-liter V6 for the Edge Sport. With 285 horsepower, Edge still gives drivers 27 miles per gallon highway. Take a step to the Edge!

Yup, no Crown Vic or other mass-produced Ford vehicle. This is a limited edition ride, produced by the American auto maker, for the sole purpose of use by law enforcement… until first gens are retired and show up at auction lots. On a mission from God? Why not get the band back together in a slightly-used Ford Interceptor?!

The new Police Interceptors were also designed with fuel economy in mind. Police Interceptors will be available with either a 3.5-liter Duratec V6 engine producing at least 280 horsepower or a twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 producing at least 300 horsepower.

According to a Bloomberg News report: The Ford Fiesta is averaging higher sales figures than not only its larger sibling the Focus, but fetching more than competing cars such as the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla which reside in a segment above the Fiesta.

Customers are buying the Fiesta loaded with options, which goes along with a new car buying trend of people getting an economy class vehicle loaded to the brim with extras. This sets the price final MSRP $3,000 to $4,000 above the starting price of $13,995. Only 7 percent of Fiesta buyers are opting for the entry-level trim and 6 out of 10 are new to the Ford brand.

“The car is attracting younger buyers with higher incomes and education and those are the kind of consumers who buy highly contented vehicles,” said George Pipas in the Bloomberg story.

Fiesta went on sale in the United States in June where the compact car sells for between $13,995 and $20,375. The current Focus model’s prices range between $16,985 to more than $20,000. Ford will introduce a new Focus next year which it hopes will spark the same kind of attraction for consumers as the Fiesta has.
