Things are heating up with Ford Motor Co. at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. They’ve introduced various concepts that may (or may not) head into production throughout coming years – but one vehicle we will see “IRL” (as the kids say, meaning In Real Life) is the Ford Fiesta ST.

Fiesta ST is powered by a 1.6-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder, producing 177 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. It’s matted to a six-speed manual transmission, enabling the car to hit the 60 mph mark in under 7 seconds, with a top speed of 137 mph.

The ST, with mean looking grille showing more teeth, is a preview of an upcoming Ford Fiesta production model. Its body is an optional add-on aerodynamic body kit: complete with lowered sports suspension, dual exhaust system and 17-inch alloy wheels. Fiesta’s interior cabin features Recaro sport seats, which we haven’t seen since the 1982 Trans Am.

Ford Fiesta promises to be one of the lowest fuel emission producing cars on the road in coming years, whether in base or ST variants.

Have you driven a Ford lately? Whether the answer is yes or no, 2011 promises to be a superior year for the American auto maker.

Ford has a slew of models to offer, from the sporty Mustang and family friendly Taurus, to the award winning Edge and F-150 pickup.

Don’t forget about the all new Fiesta, a car popular to new buyers thanks to its 40 MPG rating. There’s also the redesigned Focus, and its hybrid variant available this year! Here’s our rundown of the Ford lineup in 2011. Let us know which Ford model interests you.

Ford F-150

Now that Ranger is in retirement, Ford F-150 is the smallest pickup available by the company. Its midsized cargo space and towing capability make it a great addition to any construction site, while giving drivers a comfortable ride, well enough to use as your daily commuter through suburb or city.

Ford Fiesta

Speaking of urban driving, the all new Ford Fiesta has caught the attention of city dwellers across North America. Ford dealers can’t stop boasting about its 40 miles per gallon rating by the EPA. Available in both sedan and sporty hatchback models, Fiesta has only just begun to dazzle us all.

Ford Flex

No one was surprised when the Ford Flex became a huge seller. The vehicle is powered by Ford’s 3.5-liter Duratec V6 engine, producing 262 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque. The engine is so powerful yet fuel efficient, it was named on Ward’s 10 Best Engines list.

Ford Focus

Ford Focus is still a relatively new model by the auto maker. But in its short life Focus has already become one of their best selling vehicles of all time. A darling of rental lots and first-time drivers alike, this sedan has gone through various style changes. But there is no mistaking a Focus when you see one. Later this year, Ford will introduce a hybrid gas-electric variant of the popular car.

Ford Fusion

The spacious and powerful Ford Fusion is another recent addition to the company’s profile. It uses a similar engine to the Flex, a 3.5-liter Duratec, and comes with an upgrade option to Eco-Boost, producing over 350 horsepower. Fusion is also a movie star. Models were used in multiple scenes during The X-Files sequel, which was released a couple of years back.

Ford Mustang

Everyone knows the Ford Mustang. This iconic vehicle has inspired people of all ages to drive fast, drive smart, and look cool behind the wheel. 2011′s Mustang GT has been named one of the “Best New Models” for 2011 by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance. Mustang’s 5.0-liter all-aluminum V8 engine gives those behind the wheel an exciting 412 horsepower.

Ford Escape

What better way to start a road trip then in a Ford Escape. Combined with its 2.5-liter four cylinder powerplant, Escape was one of Ford’s initial “Crossover” vehicles, and has been a success from day 1. Shoppers also have the option to test drive Hybrid and Hybrid Limited variants, which gives even higher MPG ratings over base gasoline models.

Ford Taurus

This year’s Ford Taurus is a 2011 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Taurus is a modern day classic – a member of Ford’s Family since 1986. At one point, Taurus disappeared from the auto maker’s lineup, but she’s is back, and better! Even Conan O’Brien loves Taurus so much that he still has his 1992 SHO model.

Ford Explorer

A fully redesigned Ford Explorer is on dealership lots for 2011. This time, the family favorite SUV begins at a relatively low MSRP of about $28,200. For that, you’ll receive three rows of seating, a 2.0-liter inline-four cylinder turbocharged engine, and a 5,000 lb towing capacity. Explorer has always been a big deal for Ford, this model looks to continue that tradition.

Ford Edge

Last, but certainly not least, the Ford Edge hopes to have another outstanding year. The crossover (CUV), based on a Fusion frame, is pumped up with a 3.5-liter V6, along with an added 3.7-liter V6 for the Edge Sport. With 285 horsepower, Edge still gives drivers 27 miles per gallon highway. Take a step to the Edge!

From USA Today: In the past, Ford has played up the personalization potential of its Mustang and F-150 pickups. But this it’s going to expand the possibilities to its new, small Fiesta.

Fiesta will take center stage next month at the Specialty Equipment Market Association, or SEMA, show in Las Vegas. Several customizers and Ford itself will show off their Fiesta makeovers, including one hopped up to 350 horsepower. Fiesta “lends itself to a lot of different themes. It’s a perfect fit for the aftermarket and for customers who want to express their personality,” said Melvin Betancourt, Ford specialty design manager.

Ford is showing off drawings of several Fiestas that have been turned over to aftermarket customizers:

“SEMA offers the perfect opportunity to showcase all the different ways the personalities of the Fiesta can be expressed,” said Sam De La Garza, Fiesta brand manager.

Ford Racing Performance Parts is outfitting a concept Fiesta with 2-liter EcoBoost turbocharged engine enlarged to 2.3 liters to pump out 350 horsepower.

“The goal of our 350-horsepower Fiesta is really twofold – first to reinforce Fiesta’s fun-to-drive nature with an extreme version that captures the attention of the influential enthusiast, and second, to introduce the Ford Racing/EcoBoost connection in a way that’s unexpected and outrageous,” said Mickey Matus, Ford Racing Performance group marketing manager. “In both cases, we’re targeting the discriminating performance enthusiast with our message. After all, they are the people others rely on for automotive expertise and recommendations.”

Ken Block may have jumped over to American made cars – well at least for now. The man who previously raced Subaru Impreza’s was behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta Rally car at the 2010 Sno*Drift. Yes, even before Ford sells the Internet-popular new/reborn vehicle on dealership lots, the auto maker is racing its rally style vehicle on a snowy course in Michigan. And behind the wheel of Monster Energy Drink’s #43 is DC Shoes icon Ken Block.

2010′s Sno*Drift is one of the most anticipated rally races of the year. Just when February approaches, and early night/extreme cold begins getting to you, Sno*Drift swoops in at 300 horse power to brighten your day.

Block didn’t make it to the end, unfortunately – his Fiesta suffered suspension issues extreme enough to keep it from crossing that icy finish line. Block did pick up a WIN during Sno*Drift’s first stage, topping off at speeds of almost 110 miles per hour. Remember, turn into the spin! Even though he couldn’t finish, Block had a blast: “Everything started great, which was unexpected with this being my first time really racing the Fiesta. The conditions were really bad, possibly the iciest roads I have ever raced, so my plan was to drive on the conservative side, which I was doing. Then the suspension went after taking a few minor impacts and I was out, just like that. And while obviously disappointed, I am really looking forward to [the rally of the] 100 Acre Wood [in February]. The Fiesta has so much torque and was running so strong; it will be great to see what it can do with proper traction.”

If you’re going to have your car towed in any city, New York is not the one you want it happening in. Impound costs alone figure somewhere around $400 plus $200-$300 a day storage. And that doesn’t even count your fine. But as we recently told you about one of the Ford Fiesta Movement vehicles being stolen, it was discovered the car is currently sitting in a NYC Impound.

To be honest, being impounded by the city, county or state of NY may be a worse fate than theft. You see, the fine parking officials at police impound yards tend to make mistakes now and again – like improperly documenting seized autos or incorrectly copying licensee plates. Such is the case with our little Fiesta – the car is visible from outside this particular lock up – but as driver Jake Bronstein can’t match his car ID numbers with whatever the authorities have on file, they refuse to claim possession of said vehicle. Looks like it’s time to call in our lawyers! We’ll come pick you up one of the other Fiesta’s.

The Ford Fiesta Movement has a bit of a kink in the rubber (tires) thanks to some punk who took off with one of the Fiesta Movement Fords over this past weekend. Follow that Fiesta – because it’s mine and somebody stole it!

I mean, it’s great that groups like FollowtheFiesta are promoting the Fiesta in the USA thing on the road – but there is a point where you can be too enthusiastic about something – like when it leads you to STEAL someone’s car! We didn’t think this person would get very far, I mean there aren’t too many new Ford Fiestas on America soil. But as of Friday the car’s GPS tracked it somehwere on Interstate 95 near Port Chester, CT (via twitter) – The last post on the 140 charqacter update site pertaining to the stolen Fiesta stated “#fiestamovement and the police say “ghost car” doesn’t come up in DMV… Doesn’t exist… Can’t file report.” We will keep you posted!

In the UK they get a new Ford Fiesta – what do the Dutch get? How about a Ford Focus X wagon based off the Taurus X. When is North America going to get a cool Ford product?? It seems like Ford sends all their interesting roadsters and wagons overseas – whole America keeps getting new, bigger versions of the Expedition SUV. Now the Dutch have their own Focus X.

The new Ford Focus X-Road made its debut at Auto RAI in Amsterdam as a 300-unit limited edition. This Focus comes with a 1.8-liter 16v engine, which produces 125 horse power. The car can also run on bio-ethanol, and its emissions are low.

Basically, it’s a Ford Focus wagon with a tripped out suspension systems and a little extra horse power. But with only 125 under the hood, maybe we’re not missing much. The car comes with black roof rails, 17-inch alloy wheels, and a metallic Moondust Silver paint job. It will be on sale sometime this July. Ich Bin Ein Ford! Wait, wrong language…

Last year, rumors were spreading across the globe that a new US-based version of Ford’s Fiesta will hit streets by 2009, or 2010. This week, Europe was introduced to the Fiesta Sportsvan – leaving Americans asking – “Where’s our Fiesta?”

US Ford Fiesta?

Dozens of automotive blogs are reporting the 2010 Ford Fiesta will be on sale in North America by year’s end. With Ford doing the best of the three failing American auto makers will hopefully keep the dream of a new Fiesta alive. Maybe we shouldn’t be begging for one car while jealousy surges through our veins for this UK based Sportsvan. Read more about it (and try to control yourselves) in the press release below.

UK Fiesta Sports Van Press Release:
The new Ford Fiesta Van is now on sale from £9,025. Low running costs make this new entry into the car-derived market a sound business decision. Frugal fuel economy of up to 67.3mpg*, insurance groups of 1E and 2E and a choice of engines and trim levels make it a class-leading package.

UK Based Ford Fiesta Sportsvan

Steve Kimber, Ford of Britain’s commercial vehicles director, said: “Fiesta Van is a main player in the car-derived van market with around 25 per cent of all sales. We expect to build on this, as more and more of today’s businesses look to keep their costs under control.

“The van model was an integral part of the new Fiesta product plan and its superior quality really shows. Being competitive has never been more relevant and that’s why Fiesta Van, with the range-topping SportVan, is a great addition to our 2009 line-up.”

The fuel efficiency of the Fiesta Van is best in class: the petrol engine has combined fuel consumption of 49.6mpg and CO2 emissions of 133g/km. Both diesel engines have a combined fuel consumption of 67.3mpg* and CO2 emissions of just 110g/km.

The new Fiesta Van is available in three versions: Fiesta Van, the new “Trend” and “SportVan” with prices starting at £9,025 for the 1.25 Duratec 82PS petrol to £10,780 for the SportVan 1.6 TDCi 90PS with coated diesel particulate filter (cDPF). The addition of the Trend series is set to appeal to a wider group of customers. It is ideal for image-conscious businesses who may be delivering small packages, transporting compact equipment such as meter reading tools or for the site engineer who does not need a large capacity for tools.

Engines
The new Fiesta Van is available with a choice of engines: 1.25-litre 82PS Duratec 16 valve petrol unit and a frugal 1.4-litre 68PS Duratorq TDCi turbo diesel. The top-of-the-range 1.6-litre 90PS Duratorq TDCi turbo diesel is standard in the Fiesta SportVan. The closed-loop coated cDPF is optional on the 1.6-litre 90PS Duratorq TDCi turbo diesel on all series. Both diesel engines are built at Ford’s wind-powered plant at Dagenham, Essex.

Car becomes a van
A payload range from 490kg to 515kg gives customers a competitive option for transporting their products. The rear side windows are replaced by body-coloured solid panels, and the rear passenger seats are removed to provide a load box area of 1,000 cubic litres, with a maximum useable load length of 1,296mm, as well as a maximum load box width of 1,278mm (1,000mm between the wheel arches) and a height of up to 806mm. A half-height composite bulkhead and DIN-compliant tie-down hooks are standard.

New Fiesta Van is equipped with the acclaimed Ford EasyFuel capless refuelling system which is clean and easy to use and also has a mis-fuel inhibitor that prevents the wrong fuel filler nozzle being inserted. This feature is a major benefit to commercial customers, particularly for mixed fleets and vehicles that are used by multiple drivers.

This new model also inherits the best technologies and features from its car cousin including: a chassis designed for a safe and controllable ride under all loading conditions, the new Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) for steering accuracy and lower fuel consumption, and anti-lock brakes (ABS) including Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) is available as an option with all engines (standard on SportVan) and includes Emergency Brake Assist (EBA).
